The Edgewater Resort & Spa

Very friendly house and mals restaurant staff. To be honest I found all the staff throughout the resort lovely. Spaghetti house not so much.

We had only heard good things about the Edgewater Resort and Spa. However being a pessimist, I wanted to form my own opinion. Well, I didn't need too, all the positive reviews you hear and read about this place are correct, whether its the friendly and welcoming reception team, to the landscape gardeners, to the laundry ladies and cleaners; every single staff member in this place are so accommodating. Before we arrived we had planned to visit a number of Rarotonga's many restaurants and eateries, however we found the meal options; at breakfast, lunch and dinner, to be wide ranging, tasty and reasonably priced. The themed evenings offered great variety to keep our group coming back most evenings during our stay. Although we did get out and about, those more inclined to stay within the resort would be well catered for by the on-site facilitates or at the Spagetti House and Grill at the Entrance to the Resort. The Mal's Bar was a focal point for our group - from the cocktail happy hour in the early evening, to the drinks vouchers system, to the location of the outdoor area; offering the most stunning of sunsets, you could spend hours sitting here watching the azure waves break over the outer lagoon reef. The wonderful restaurant and bar staff were always happy to accommodate and I could not speak more highly of the hospitality they provided to our group during our stay - Meitaki Trina, Jimmy and Inoke just to mention a few! The Lagoon is packed with tropical fish and we spent many an hour snorkelling and swimming in and around the beautiful coral formations; with the team at the activities bungalow always happy to sort out your snorkelling gear, reef shoes and towels. The ladies in our group spent a lot of time in the on-site Edgewater spa and were extremely happy with the results, so much so, they convinced a number of their partners to partake, including myself, best massage I have ever had!!! - Meitaki Gino - The man with magic hands!!!

The room location was brilliant. looking straight onto the lagoon. 1 floor up would have been even greater. Plenty of variety for breakfast, as I am a cereal eater. The dinner was pretty good. Good variety. Although the steak didn't have veg. The outside seating was very good. Nice for the evening cocktail hour. As the sun was setting .

The Edgewater Resort was ideal for our family vacation. We had a lagoon room view with a balcony and it did not disappoint......it was our own little slice of paradise. The room itself was spacious and very clean. The staff, especially the ones servicing our room were fantastic. The buffet breakfast was really comprehensive included cereals, yoghurt, fresh and canned fruits, toast, muffins, bircher muesli, buns, pastries and good gluten free options. If none of those suited you could order from the menu at an extra cost. The pool was lovely and clean, but we just swam in the lagoon as it was so handy. We took our own snorkels and reef shoes. The resort do have some but if you are not quick they get booked out quickly. We dined at the Spaghetti House, the food was excellent. The free on site parking was very handy as we hired a car the whole trip. There are filtered water stations at both of the Edgewater's laundry's so there's easy access to good drinking water. I would recommend taking your own refillable water bottles. All in all we loved our stay, the gorgeous landscaped paths and gardens just elevated the whole resort. We will definitely be back.

I loved that the staff were so helpful. I found the staff who were not locals were the most helpful. I loved that the resort had so many activities for the kids. The range of breakfast needs to include maybe boiled eggs and more toasters. I loved the breakfast overall. I loved the complimentary equipment for snorkeling. It was cool for the kids. Our villa was perfect for our family, loved it had a washing machine.
